“Taste of Betrayal”
For Time 100 Burpees Rest 3 Minutes 100 Pull Ups Rest 2 Minutes 100 Sit Ups Rest 1 Minute 100 Double Unders Alt/movements and rep schemes will be posted on the board Post Times for all movements Post Traumatic Stress Disorder I hate to go on a dark and serious note on here, but its necessary. Coach PJ just had a close friend lose a family member to this disorder. It is very real and very life altering. So many Vets afflicted come home and have no where to turn or at least they don’t feel like they do. Some turn to drugs and alcohol and some don’t show signs at all. It angers and saddens me every time I hear of any Veteran taking his or her life. I desperately want to raise awareness and provide activities that they can do here at CFRT if appropriate. I am open to any and all ideas. If you know someone that may be suffering, let them know that are not alone and there is help!! I would love to hear form you CFRT family!
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH CRAP!!!!!
PJ I’m so sorry man! And WOW that’s a killer WOD!!!
Amazing WOD for Hump Day, Woot Woot
Wait……… did you just Woot Woot?!?!?! hahahaha
Woot Woot! Yes I was creeping cfrt page…see you guys some morning over there! 🙂
Gina! Creep anytime!
Yes I did, but it’s the hump day camel Woot Woot, not a regular Woot Woot. You will see and hear tomorrow.
Very sorry for your loss PJ. Our thoughts and condolences are with you.
PTSD and any form of depression or mental disorder can be terrifying. I went through severe post partum after Matt, and I honestly confirm that Crossfit and my Crossfit community were key in my recovery. It’s difficult to talk about because of the stigma attached. Mike, for me, the times after we workout that we just hang out are so important. I wonder if you could build in time with coaches and fellow Crossfitters post wod to chat or to just, well, be present in the moment. Not really an open gym but more of a hang out. Last Friday night is a perfect example! Stress free and easy to open up.
Amy – couldn’t agree more withy the post WOD hanging. For those that are able – it gives us time to recover, share experiences and get to know one another better.
RIGHT ON!!! We highly encourage this!
PJ – sorry for your loss… Sucks…..
Holy crap! Killer WOD tomorrow! Gonna be some time spent on this one!
Yes, it is a long grind. Im sure you saw how spent I was before class. Smart scaling is a must 😉
Amy is on the right track. Like you said a lot of them turn to alcohol and drugs. I think one thing is to let the local vet assiciations like the VFW, American legion and the town veteran rep about cfrt and yourself. You can do one WOD a week for just vets, I know you just started a business but if it could be free it would attract more vets. This would give them something to do besides sit at a bar and they would meet other local vets. Using Amy’s idea that they can hang and talk afterwards. Eventually, u would like to think they would come to other classes and feel like they belong to something. Vets have a natural desire to have structure and be on a team. I hope this helps.
Absolutely right on guys. We highly encourage everyone to hang out Post WOD and chat/ socialize. That’s exactly the kind of community we are building. Not just WOD and leave, but hang out like a family! Love and appreciate the feedback guys. I am currently in contact with Team Red White and Blue , Worcester chapter. And we are talking about setting up something very similar to what you are saying. Love and appreciate the feedback keep them coming. Sorry for your loss PJ and his family. May he be now be at peace
27:40 Rx- It’s as bad as it looks. Thats about all i have to say about that. Great work 5am crew. Way to get after it. Awesome having all 3 rail trail coaches in this morning. Thanks PJ, Mike and Sarah!!!
You DON’T want to miss this WOD!! Its a killer but EXTREMELY rewarding at the end. The toughest part is building up the courage to get to the Box but while you are there the Coaches and the other Athletes will get you through it. GET ER’ DONE!! WOOT WOOT!!
WOOT!! WOOT!!
Well this WOD was fun for a hump day! You are insane, Mike! But love the programming. Thanks to all the coaches (Mike, PJ AND Sarah) for the tips (especially on my very inefficient burpees). Loved seeing Sarah up early and pushing us through.
5:00am class, way to crush it boys!
Taste of Betrayal – 17:58
-1/2 WOD with Ring Rows and Single Unders.
Michelle C… SOLO…Way to represent for the 6:00am class.
PJ I am so sorry for your loss, truly terrible.
Taking an active rest day today unfortunately because I really felt yesterday in my knees- attending elements tonight, but awesome work everyone! Sounds like an awesome WOD!
As always, great 5am class. I love starting my day off working with this group. Also great seeing Sarah there today.
Taste of betrayal
28:01
Glad to hear that Michelle C. Tied my 82 dubs unbroken. Awesome job!!
Forgot to post my time for Taste of Betrayal : 30:13 RX. Just recovered from it now hahaha
Great time this am hanging with the 5/6am crew. I still don’t know how you guys get after it so hard that early. Pretty cool to be at the box tho while everyone else is still asleep. Awesome work by all of you guys! I’ll drop in from time to time 🙂
Its great to be back at Crossfit. 3x in less than a week. I’m psyched to be at CFRT. Community and team work is what cross fit should be about and CFRT is nailing it, thanks guys.
I loved today’s WOD, but I wanted to be able to lift a beer can on Thursday, so….
25:30 Rx the Burpees (I heart burpees)/ 50 Rx pull ups then 25 ring rows, Rx sit-ups and Rx Dubs. I feel confident i will be able to hoist a few beers on Thursday and back at it Friday.
Great having you buddy!
Taste of Betrayal: 22:27ish (my notebook is downstairs), modified to 50 reps of the burpees, ring rows, ab mats and 100 singles. I was SO amazed and impressed by the 5am class and Michelle’s work when I saw it on the board. Nice work! Thanks again Mike!
Crazy workout but loved it! Rocked out with great motivation from mike even when the power went out. Time was a little skewed due to power loss we estimated it at 31:30 but in my head I think it was around 8 min. 75/50/100/200 singles thanks for the help mike!
24:29? I think but I forget. Love my burpees. Getting better at pull ups slowly but surely. Great tip Mike about keeping my feet together and getting my knees up. Helped!! I really need to work on my dubs.
Great job tonight everyone! Great to see you Aryn!
I love how you guys were initially intimidated by this WOD and then went on to CA-RUSH it! Now, like I have been saying all day. Make sure we recover from this properly. This meaning lots of water mobility, nice meal etc. Continue this tomorrow as well. Lets hang on to the gains that you guys fought so hard for! Great day!!
OMG that was a brutally awesome WOD!!!! I loved every minute of the torture but I was really happy with each movement even though the ring rows smoked my arms! Got 25:06 for a total time!
PJ – sorry for your loss. That’s pretty rough 🙁
At work today we were “invited” to come volunteer on 9/11 at the Veterans, Inc. in Worcester. I feel pretty honored/humbled to do it, cannot wait to hopefully help (in some way) the vets who we will meet. This is especially near and dear to my heart since my Gramp was a D-Day vet; I miss him every day and can’t wait to honor him somehow, even if just by volunteering for 8 hours with my co-workers.
